Education Events in Baltimore

Board forum on school police and carrying weapons

Under state law, school police officers who are assigned to a school do not carry their service weapons on school property during regular school hours. On Thursday, October 11, the Board of School Commissioners is hosting a forum to hear input on the current practice to inform its platform for the upcoming legislative session. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the district office (200 E. North Avenue), and sign-up for public comment is available from 4:45 to 5:45.
